Dunedin City District

The Dunedin city district is as diverse as they come. From wild ocean coastline, through the rich Victorian era mining history, to as far away as the Rock and Pillar range of the Maniototo.

Dunedin city district is home to the worlds steepest street, Baldwin St. It boasts the only two castles in New Zealand, one of which is an abandoned shell of a building high above sandstone cliffs. The worlds longest sea caves also reside here in the Matanaka cliffs at Cornish head. Dunedin is also the wildlife capital of New Zealand and holds the tallest tree.
